Jeep Regearing – Why and How its Done

When you put on bigger tires, you are changing the final gear ratio of your drivetrain, this will cause you to have performance and usually gas mileage degradation. To put the pep back into your vehicle, changing the gear ratios in the differentials will bring life back to your rig. In this video, we go through the reasons why to regear, and the process it takes to get it done right.

Special thanks to the guys at The Edge 4×4 Automotive and Yukon Gear and Axle for helping with this video.

Shelf Road – Cripple Creek to Cañon City Colorado

Shelf Road is a well-maintained dirt road the goes between Cripple Creek and Cañon City Colorado. This is basically as easy as it gets as any regular passenger car with a couple of inches of clearance will have no problems at all. What Shelf Road lacks in difficulty, is more than made up with incredible scenic views.

Gordon Gulch OHV Trail – Nederland Colorado

Gordon Gulch isn’t much more than a dirt road when dry, but add some snow and it can go from fun, to literally impossible. We caught it at a great time and didn’t have any issues getting through it. This is a good beginner trail and only rates a moderate rating due to winter conditions.

Gross Reservoir OHV Trail

We went looking for a trail that was going to be below the major snow line and the descriptions of Gross Reservoir sounded interesting. Unfortunately, the descriptions seemed a bit overhyped.
