Wheeler Lake is located just out of Breckenridge Colorado and is on the higher end of the Moderate scale and can be considered hard at times. There are some nice obstacles and LOTS of rocks to deal with. This is now one of my favorite trails here in Colorado.

If you are hitting trails a lot, eating will eventually be one of those things you will want to do. I really dislike carrying a big cooler, pots, pans, etc to fix meals so I decided to do a small camping trip and test out a variety of Mountain House meals.

Chinaman Gulch is a 7.9 mile OHV loop near Buena Vista Colorado. For those willing to risk breakage and damage, a side trail called Carnage Canyon loops around part of the main trail. Chinaman Gulch has a number of different elements from long rock gardens, to big boulders, to large obstacles. If you want a hard, challenging trail, this is it, and it is only 2.5 miles from Denver.

Tincup Pass is an easy-moderate OHV trail that runs 13 miles from St Elmo to Tincup just outside of Buena Vista Colorado. The trail climbs up to 11,000′ above sea level, making it only accessible from around April to October. There are lots of primitive camping sites available, although camping at high altitudes may not be a good idea for people from lower altitudes.

A much-overlooked maintenance item on your Jeep is the cabin air filter. This filter cleans the air for the air conditioner and, if it gets clogged up, can reduce the efficiency of the system. You should replace this about every other oil change or as appropriate for your driving conditions.

China Wall is a fun, moderate trail with some decent obstacles to try to tackle The hardest obstacles have bypasses but there are a couple of areas where a spotter is HIGHLY recommended for less experienced drivers.

The road from Alma to Leadville via Mosquito Pass offers great views, old mines, some shelf road driving, and a few small, but optional obstacles.
