We went looking for a trail that was going to be below the major snow line and the descriptions of Gross Reservoir sounded interesting. Unfortunately, the descriptions seemed a bit overhyped.

One of the most popular areas in Colorado is Rainbow Falls, outside of Woodland Park Colorado. The area is full of trails and has a popular feature known as Mini Moab.

Longwater Gulch is a low-moderate difficulty trail located between Woodland Park and Lake George Colorado. You will get beautiful views throughout the drive as you go through the damage caused by the 2002 Haymen Fire.

Pickle Gulch OHV trail is located just outside of Blackhawk Colorado and is a moderate difficulty trail. Normally, this isn’t that hard of a trail, but add a fresh snowfall, and things can get pretty tricky.
