With close deep snow, icy conditions, numerous hills, and ruts, a fun snowwheeling drive on Balanced Rock becomes a full day of doing off-road recoveries for not only ourselves, but a group of young drivers as well.

We got out with Josh and Christina in their 4XE Rubicon for a snow wheeling adventure in Devil’s Canyon, just south of Idaho Springs Colorado.
Little Muddy Creek used to be rated a 5/8 by Trails Offroad. On our latest trip there for what we thought would be some fun wheeling, we found a well maintained and graded dirt road with no obstacles to speak of and what was left was looking to be graded as well.
Today we head up over the treeline above Georgetown Colorado and visit McClellan Mountain, the old Waldorf Mine area, and then onto Argentine Pass.
Join us on another adventure as we start on Yankee Hill and create a large loop of trails including Miner’s Gulch to Mammoth Gulch eventually ending up in Rollinsville, Co.
Things don’t always go according to plan and on this trip, our friends Phil and Dana got a rip in their sidewall. Fortunately, I had a GlueTreads (no, I am not sponsored by them) kit and we not only got them through the rest of the day, they drove home with the repaired tired still on!
This trip to Bill Moore Lake has it’s share of surprises and one very, very special moment!
